The boat cruise was fabulous and so much fun! Ed is a great host. Through his connections at Vikingsholm, we received a private tour of the property. The boat was beautiful and our friends who joined us on the cruise were so impressed. Highly recommend!
Ed was an excellent captain who provided safety and knowledge of the lake. He kept his boat pristine too! Sunset – This is a must when visiting Tahoe. We will be back in the future with family!
To Alpenglow Boat Co. and in particular a heartfelt thanks to Ed! What an amazing way to celebrate our 53rd Wedding Anniversary. The boat trip to Emerald Bay was fantastic. The surrounding scenery amazing and Ed was the perfect host who even went out of his way to show me the waterfall. The boat was comfortable and really nice. Seeing the bay from the boat in contrast to seeing it from land makes such a difference. What an incredible day! What a beautiful lake! What a gorgeous boat! Our time in Lake Tahoe was the high point of our summer. And the Pinnacle of that trip was spending an afternoon on the Alpenglow Boat Company’s wooden boat, the Radiance. This beauty was built in 1957 and has been completely restored to its original splendor. Everything was immaculate, the tour guide was knowledgeable, the views of the mountains and Emerald Bay took your breath away, especially during sunset! How fun to be on such a unique craft in a place where wooden boats once roamed freely, and now get all kinds of attention from everyone you pass. We really felt special to enjoy such a unique experience in this wonderland.
First of all, we’ve heard nothing but great things about these guys so we were so excited to go out on the lake with them during our visit to Tahoe! They were so attentive and intentional to our needs and to celebrate with us! I was newly pregnant and I was afraid I would be nauseous, but actually the fresh lake air and beauty really refreshed me. They were so attentive in checking in with me (how I was feeling, if I needed anything). My husband and I had the best time. They took us out right around the end of the day to see the sun lower down near the mountains and the view was spectacular from every side! But honestly — the real showstopper is the boat itself! It is SO BEAUTIFUL. It’s a classic, vintage wooden boat that clearly has been kept in excellent condition. What a beauty. It felt so luxurious, high end, and special to be in. It felt like the boat was made just for us to enjoy that night. We are so pleased to have had this experience and would very highly recommend booking with Alpenglow Boat Co. We felt so celebrated and they made our night so special. It was 100% worth it! We recommend them to all our family and friends who are visiting Tahoe!
My wife and I celebrated our 10th wedding anniversary with Alpenglow Boat Co. We were pleasantly surprised they went the extra mile to make it a special evening. I would highly recommend the tour with them in the morning or evening for the special sunrise/sunset tours as Lake Tahoe often exceeds expectations. Thanks Ed for making it an awesome evening on that awesome Century boat!
Cannot recommend Alpenglow Boat Company, and specifically Ed the captain, highly enough! He catered the tour to our wishes. We went to Emerald Bay, walked around the Vikingsholm Castle, and saw much of south Lake Tahoe. Ed is very knowledgeable and friendly. We had a great time. It was a highlight of our trip!

Ed knows the lake well and you’ll enjoy every minute as you ride around and dip your fingers into beautiful Lake Tahoe. Great boat for selfies too. We just loved our time with family and felt like a mini vaca. What a treat!
Ed gave us an unforgettable experience. He is very knowledgeable of the lake and it’s surroundings. The boat itself is comfortable and intimate given it is a private tour. You can’t beat the views of emerald bay, especially when it is just your party as opposed to a large group of people you don’t know. Ed is also very accommodating when it comes to food, drinks, and music. I highly recommend booking with Alpenglow, I would not change a single thing about my experience.
BOAT IS BEAUTIFUL – this is the private water activity everyone should opt for while here in Lake Tahoe. This pristine show boat really adds to the experience.
This boat ride made our trip! Ed was so knowledgeable and friendly. We went with 2 friends and brought our 6 month old who LOVED the boat. Would recommend to anyone! Can’t wait to come back!
Awesome experience! We had Ed as our captain, he reached out via text right away to introduce himself and made it very easy to find him and the boat. The boat itself is absolutely beautiful, they keep it in pristine shape. And the lake… it’s like a postcard come to life. Would give it 6 out of 5 stars if I could.
Had a great tour with Ed on a perfect day on the lake. The boat is a classic which added to the overall experience. He is very knowledgeable about Lake Tahoe and found the perfect spot for us to jump in and enjoy the water. He was also very accommodating in making the reservation.
The tour of the lake with Ed was the best part of our trip to Lake Tahoe. We hiked, we biked, but touring the lake and swimming in the crystal-clear water was the highlight of the long weekend. The classic boat was stunning, and Ed catered the 2-hour tour specifically to our group. It was easy to make a reservation and the company was fabulous about confirming and making sure we knew exactly where and when to meet them. The whole experience was stress free and thoroughly enjoyable!
